Our Efforts

With the explosive spread of HIV in Sub-Saharan Africa we soon also came to realize that our efforts had to be focused on caring for the many orphaned children particularly in countries such as Swaziland which currently has over 180,000 orphans.

Continuous Mission

Lamb Orphanage was incorporated in 1989 as 501 (3) (c) non profit in the State of California to assist orphans on the continent of Africa who have little or no means of support. We've worked in a half dozen African countries: Liberia, Ethiopia, Malawi, Swaziland, Kenya, Madagascar, to bring help to needy children. We began with a malnutrition study in Liberia in 1985 which resulted in two publications in prestigious medical journals. From that study we became acutely aware of the tremendously large orphan population in West Africa and throughout the rest of the continent as well.

AIDS and HIV had not been recognized when we first started but within 10 years we came to focus our efforts on HIV/AIDS prevention particularly in children. With the explosive spread of HIV in Sub-Saharan Africa we soon also came to realize that our efforts had to be focused on caring for the many orphaned children particularly in countries such as Swaziland which currently has over 180,000 orphans.
